CAS Mix Up Card Challenge ~ January

I have another card for the CAS Mix Up Card Challenge for January.
I used cling film and a faux pearl technique to get the cool background.
I dropped some Adirondack acrylic "pearl" paint onto my Ranger mat and dabbed it with a scrunched up bit of cling wrap and dabbed it over my white cardstock.  When it was dry,(and it only took a few minutes) I sponged over it with some DOX ink.  It looks like a blizzard with the swirling snow! he he

I used cling wrap, stamped my sentiment and die cut my sloping hillside (poppystamp).
You have until the 24th to enter this challenge!
Go check out all the inspiration for this fun technique and play along!

Twofer Challenge #1 a redeeming post

I am redeeming myself friends!
I was in such a hurry to get a card made for The TWOFER CHALLENGE that I totally focused on two cards for different occasions, not really thinking about two different DESIGNS!!
SO after a three day weekend in the gym...and LOOOONG days at that (one granddaughter played at 8 am- 1 pm, the other played at 3 - 9:30 pm!!) I was ready to get back into the studio and come up with new designs.  I was asked for a couple of thank you cards, so I set to work using the same feather from PTI's Happy trails and using totally different designs for the cards.  Here is what I came up with, and I so apologize for not reading the directions and following them, Darnell!!  And by the way...I think this is terrific and challenging (obviously for me!  *wink) and I appreciate the rules of this challenge!!

Using feathers was perfect because my cards are going to a man thanking him for his service at church.  I like to have several options for the person so choose from, so I loved using the same stamp but with different designs.  I also LOVE this sentiment and think it is so appropriate!
One more thank you card that has nothing to do with the twofer challenge, just wanted to throw in one more card choice for my friend who is sending it.
Okay my friends, I totally feel better about entering these two cards in this challenge, I hope you will go and do the same.  And don't forget to read the rules and follow them!

Merry Monday # 273 Red & Turquoise Christmas Card

Welcome friends to the Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge!  I know it seems like we just put Christmas away (I guess we really did!), but trust me when I tell you that making these cards now will be a blessing come next November when you are busy busy busy with Christmas activities!
I LOVED this color inspiration that Marcia chose for us and I know poinsettias are not normally cut flowers in a vase, but I so wanted to use these new to me Sunny Studios Petite Poinsettias and the new PTI Flower Power stamp set.  so I combined the two and I love it!  You cannot see all the shine and sparkle on the flowers, but let me tell you, I really winked it up with the Stella!! Tthat cute sentiment is from another PTI set called Winter Village.
A really simple card, almost one layer except I had to add some dimension for a couple of the flowers!!
I hope you will join us this week!  I will see you in the gallery and please go check out what the design team has made to get your creative juices flowing!

Twofer Card challenge # 1 ~ Feathers

There is a NEW Challenge in town friends!  The TWOFER CHALLENGE! This is the brain child of none other than our fabulous Darnell!  Friends...take a stamp, any stamp and make a card!  Then using the SAME  stamp make another card for a totally different occasion.  Brilliant, isn't it?
We get to build up our stash and get more miles from our stamps!
The PROMPT word for this first challenge is FEATHERS!
I used a little feather from PTI Happy Trails. My first card was just a note, because a friend was looking for a card to send to an elderly aunt...just a 'thinking of you'...or...'just a note' kind of card.  I thought the ink splats reminded me of dipping a feather in the inkwell to write your note...okay, way before my time, but I have seen it in films!! *wink
My second one is obviously for a happy couple who are expecting a baby girl!  I took the sentiment from PTI Feather Finery. I stamped and then clear embossed and also did some second generation stamping.  I kept the design similar in both cards.
Thanks for stopping by and having a look...I think this is going to be a favorite challenge of mine!!
Please head over tot he Twofer Challenge blog and have a look at all the inspiring cards made by the design team...you will be blown away!!  Happy Friday!!

Merry Monday # 272 use a glass on your Christmas card!

This inspiration photo shows drinking glasses, and I look forward to seeing what you come up with!  I know the designers have been very clever in their interpretation of this photo inspiration and the explanation of:  "glasses on your card"!  Thank you Leanne for this challenge!
Please go  HERE to Merry Monday and check it out!

CAS Mix Up January Challenge

The January Challenge over at CAS Mix-Up is Cling-Wrap, stamping and your choice!
I had fun with this, but was a bit messy, I forgot to put on gloves!!
I used cling wrap to get the texture on the blue background after spritzing my brushos, I die cut the flower, and the round "Window Works", I then stamped and embossed the sentiment.
You really need to head over to the challenge and see all the awesome projects from the design team!

MIM A La Carte!

For the first MIM of the New Year 2017 A La Carte, Papertrey always gives us a chance to go back and play with a challenge that we were unable to do during the year.
I don't remember doing #276 Kraft & colored pencils with Melissa Phillips!
I pulled out Botanical Blocks III and stamped on kraft then colored with prisma colored pencils.
My card is mounted on a soft stone card that I embossed with the linen impression plate for a subtle background.  The sentiment is from Through the Trees.
